With all the recent news and improved weather there is definitely optimism in the air. Devon Virtual Games Events hosted by Active Devon and the Devon School Games Organisers have been encouraging young people and families to put a spring in their step with a skipping challenge.
Forty Five children from Princetown, Horrabridge, Lamerton, St Peter’s, Tavistock, Bere Alston and Whitchurch primary schools took part in an Ability Games event, hosted by Bere Alston school and run by OCRA coaches.
The Climbing Barn at Milton Abbot was busier than normal on the day of the annual West Devon Primary schools Bouldering competition, organised by OCRA.

Crowndale was the venue for the OCRA West Devon Small Schools Football Festival. Teams from Exbourne, Lamerton, Gulworthy, Mary Tavy & Brentor A & B), Highampton (A & B), Lewtrenchard and Milton Abbot took part in what was a very entertaining and competitive football tournament.
The annual Years 4, 5 and 6 tag rugby festival, hosted by South Tawton Primary school and held at South Zeal Recreation Park, had 17 entries this year from eight schools.
Well known marathon runner Adam Holland made a very welcome appearance at the Tavistock Area Schools first Cross Country event on 12th February. The first cross country event of the 2019 Tavistock Primary Schools series took place in the Meadows on a mild Tuesday afternoon in February.
