Job Opportunity: L2 Gymnastic Coach

OCRA and Okehampton Flyers are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic gymnastics coach to lead sessions as part of its growing gymnastics programme and restarting sessions in Holsworthy.

Sessions will be 2 days a week in Holsworthy with other opportunities available in Okehampton.

Initially this position would be part time. The hours will be roughly 3.15pm – 4.45pm, with the opportunity to work during the school holidays at one of our Holiday Camps.

We believe initially, this would most likely suit somebody who was looking for a part time job to fit around college, university, children or another job, as classes will most likely run 3.15pm – 4.45pm. This role would suit an energetic, active and enthusiastic individual, who was passionate about both children and gymnastics.

Candidates must be able to travel to Holsworthy and Okehampton

Coaching Duties and Responsibilities:

After-School Clubs Gymnastics Coach – Plan and deliver exciting, engaging and age-appropriate sports sessions to children in local schools.

Follow both OCRA and Okehampton Flyers policies and procedures as outlined on successful application.

Qualifications:

Essential:

British Gymnastics Level 2 or higher qualified

Experience working with children

DBS checked (provided by BG or OCRA)

Training on safeguarding children

Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle

Requirements:

A successful candidate would need to demonstrate safety at all times and effectively coach gymnastics skills to groups of primary aged children, ensuring all participants are safe, make progress and have fun!

As well as delivering sessions, you may be asked to fulfil certain admin functions as part of the role:

Planning- All of the sessions that are delivered are to be planned, we have a wide variety of plans, that would need to be adapted accordingly.

Customer service – Communicating with parents at the door and during pick up time, and potentially regarding their child’s progress and answering any queries by telephone and email.

As well as undertaking the roles mentioned above also has a duty of care when working with children and must adhere to our own and each individual school’s policies and procedures at all times.

Pay: £12.00-£20.00 per hour
