OCRA is relaunching its Rock and Pop Music Project this Summer.
Supported by Devon Music Education Hub and mentored by Turning Tides Project, we’re looking to help young people develop their writing, performing and collaboration skills in whatever musical style they want to pursue.
The project aims to encourage aspiring musicians aged 12-18 to develop socially and musically together, working towards creating performances in music video, podcast or live gigs.
Starting with the Open Music Session workshop as part of OCRA’s half term activities this Weds 29th May, the regular weekly Wednesday session begins 12th June at 4pm at OCRA Pavilion. With the support of funding from Devon Music Education Hub, we’re keeping the cost down to £2.50 per session through to the Autumn
There will be a monthly late session in the rehearsal rooms at Okehampton Kings Arms on the last Wednesday of each month.
Hours spent on the project will count toward achieving Arts Awards (audience member, live performances, production, experience of stage management and sound checks and more).
