Organised by Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA) and hosted by St Peter’s Primary school, the large schools High 5 Netball tournament took place on Wednesday 1st November, hours before the storm moved in and closed everything down for a day.
Two competitions took place at the same time. On one court were the A teams from Horrabridge, Whitchurch, St Andrew’s, St Peter’s and Tavistock. The other court had Horrabridge, Whitchurch & St Andrew’s B and St Peter’s B & C.
Each team had four games, everyone playing each other and Horrabridge came out top in both categories. Whitchurch were runners-up in the A competition and St Peter’s in the B event.
The Okehampton Area event had to be postponed, as did the Tavistock small schools event as they were both planned for the following day. These will now be played after the Christmas holidays. The West Devon finals will then take place to decide which school will represent West Devon at the county finals.
