A great opportunity for talented and keen hockey players in year 5 & 6
Devon Hockey Development Centres offer the chance to be part of TEAM WEST DEVON – Hockey at the Youth Games 2018 .
This also has further development pathways to other opportunities for aspiring youngsters.
There will be sessions in Okehampton and Tavistock to support youngsters from all over West Devon in being part of this fantastic training and event:
Tuesday 5th, 19th June – Okehampton
Tuesday 12th, 26th June- Tavistock 6-7.30pm (West Devon)
Throughout the month of June, Devon Hockey along with South West Games are running Development Centres across the county. In each area we are running 4 sessions with experienced coaches looking to develop skills and enhance talent. These sessions will also be an opportunity to be selected to represent your area in the South West Rotary Youth Games.
These sessions are for anyone in school years 5, 6 or 7 this current year. Only year 5 and 6 players will be able to be selected for the South West Youth Games squads. However, year 7’s will be given the opportunity to take part in a special World Cup event in celebration of the Women’s event taking place in London this year.
The areas are split as follows:
Plymouth, Teignbridge, Torbay, Exeter, Mid Devon, East Devon, South Hams, West Devon, North Devon & Torridge (combined). To be eligible for a region you must either attend school in the area OR live in the area.
If you would like to attend these sessions please fill in this form. Once dates are confirmed we will contact you. Sessions will take place 1 evening a week on a midweek evening. The cost to attend the 4 weeks will be £10. There may be an additional charge from your district to attend the SW Games or the Devon World Cup Festival.
The SW Games for school years 5/6 is on the 7th July in Dawlish and the Year 7 World Cup Festival is on the 14th July in Plymouth.
