Christmas at the Lakes Festive Fun Runs: 12th Dec 2021

Join Okehampton Community and Recreation Association (OCRA) at Upper Tamar Lake this Christmas for some festive fun! Every Sunday in the run-up to Christmas, Tamar Lakes Cafe will be hosting a Christmas market.

On Sunday 12th December 2021 OCRA will be delivering two fun runs; a 2k Run with Santa and a Festive 5k all in aid of Northern Devon’s NHS charity, Over and Above.

Earn your sweet treats by taking part in either our 2km Run with Santa or our Festive 5km.

The 2km Run with Santa is aimed at those new to running, returning to fitness or have little legs. Get the legs moving by running/walking/hopping/skipping around with Santa across the bridge over to the Devon bank out to the 1km marker and back to earn your medal.

Enter the 2K Run

The Festive 5km is aimed at those looking for a challenge or want to circumnavigate the lake. We are breaking the (cake) mould and going clockwise around Upper Tamar Lake, there will be a jam first by starting in Cornwall, the cream will then be vying to come first as we move into Devon before finishers receive their medals at the end of the bridge.

Alongside the run:

Browse the stalls stocked full of local crafts, gifts and decorations, it’s a great way to get into the festive spirit.
Warm up at the Hot Chocolate bar or enjoy a spiced apple punch at the coffee shop where all your favourite Christmas sweet treats are freshly baked by the Tamar Lakes Café team.

About the Event

Over and Above is Northern Devon’s NHS charity which fundraises for equipment and facilities over and above that which the NHS is able to provide to make a real difference to our patients, their families and the amazing staff who treat them. The funds raised from the Tamar Lake Christmas Run will be used to support the Over and Above Cancer and Wellbeing Fern Centre. This Centre is entirely funded by Over and Above charity, and its running costs relies on public and corporate donations and grants.

Owing to the charitable nature of the event we are unable to offer refunds once entry has been made, entries will be allowed on the day at the same price. This event has the permission of the landowner South West Lakes Trust.
