OCRA Charity Fun Run and Festive Market

Festive Fun Run and Christmas MarketSunday December 15th 2019 saw more than 50 jolly joggers of all ages take part in Okehampton Community and Recreation Association’s (OCRA) Festive 5k Fun Run. The event, in aid of OCRA, saw runners and walkers decked out in festive dress take on the two lap course around Simmons Park and Okehampton College’s grounds.

The participants were supported by staff and volunteers from OCRA and Okehampton Running Club who clapped, cheered, high fived and marshalled the community event. Alongside the run, OCRA’s Pavilion Café was buzzing as it hosted festive market stalls with local crafts people and businesses offering bespoke gifts, treatments and stocking fillers, whilst providing food and drinks for runners and spectators alike.

The money raised from the event will be used to support the wide range of activities OCRA offers for the residents of Okehampton, its hamlets and surrounding areas.

“It was fabulous to see so many participants, young and old, taking part in the event. There were a few confused dog walkers as a stream of elves, Santas and reindeer passed them around the park and most gave them an encouraging cheer! A big thank you to my team for working so hard on the event, to Okehampton Running Club, the Town Council and the College for all their help.” Ian Blythe, OCRA General Manager.

Well done and thank you to everyone that took part; you can check out the race placings and lap times here : Xmas Run Results
